Before you start (most common mistake)
Casting works best when:
- Your phone/PC and Chromecast are on the same Wi‑Fi network
- Your Wi‑Fi is stable (5GHz preferred)
Step-by-step: cast Stremio
- Start playing a title
- Tap the Cast icon
- Choose your Chromecast device
- Wait for the connection to complete before changing quality/subtitles
If your Chromecast doesn’t appear
- Confirm both devices are on the same network
- Reboot your Chromecast
- Restart Stremio
- Disable VPN temporarily (if it breaks local discovery)
Reduce stutter and buffering while casting
- Use 5GHz Wi‑Fi or Ethernet (if your Chromecast supports it)
- Move closer to the router
- Reduce other heavy network usage while testing
